Dance Nation

Dance Nation

Dance Nation is a television series, a music collection brand, a radio show, and live event club experiences since 1995. Dance Nation is a registered trademark.

History

In 1995, while only 16-years old, Luke Dalinda had produced the pilot episode of Dance Nation. Unlike today, during these times, it was very expensive to produce a TV pilot. Betacam SP cameras, which back then had cost over $100,0000, had to be used to shoot the show, and the footage had to be edited on a very expensive linear editing platform.

Using his own money, Luke had relentlessly found a way to get it done. His goal was to bring an accurate representation of dance music and club culture to television.

After much rejection and opposition to music, which today is used by every major corporate brand, Luke had secured broadcast commitments from CHCH TV 11, Fox 29, and ultimately NBC. From there, the Dance Nation brand had expanded to a dance music collection with Universal Music, radio shows, websites, and live experiences.

To this day, Dance Nation continues with special TV episodes, YouTube and Vimeo channels, and other initiatives.

While there are many unauthorized uses of Dance Nation in the marketplace, many major corporations have recognized Luke Dalinda's ownership of the name, including Apple, Twitter, Facebook, and many of the founding sponsors of the TV series.

The Dance Nation brand has been alive for almost 30-years, and, in celebration of this achievement, numerous television specials, live events, and music collections have been planned.
